Attractions

Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park is one of Norway's leading tourist attractions, with over 500,000 visitors yearly. In this unique family park, you will find more than 100 different types of animals. Here you'll find the Norwegian pirate Kaptein Sabeltann and the Kardemomme storybook town, a swimming/water park and a large recreational park. In contrast to most other parks, Dyreparken is open all year round.

  • The Fish Market has sprung up the last few years. Small bridges and new wooden maritime inspired buildings painted in red and yellow house restaurants, shops and offices that create a very special and cozy atmosphere by the canal
  • Kristiansand Cannon Museum is a a historical defense museum that features German coastal defense battery from 1940-45
  • Lindesnes is the southernmost mainland point in Norway. The first lighthouse on the site was fired up in 1656. The current one, a classical lighthouse built in 1915, is visible up to 19 nautical miles out to sea
  • Setesdal Mineral Park is where copper and nickel ore has been extracted from the mines at Flåt since 1844 and mining of quartz, feldspar and rare minerals has been carved out from the 1880's up to the present
  • At "Bronseplassen" you can discover the Viking Era, the Bronze Age and the Stone Age
  • The Sørlandets Art Museum has both permanent and changing exhibitions, programs for schools and activities in the lecture hall
  • The Agder Museum of Natural History and Botanical Garden is one of the oldest natural history museums in Norway. Here you will find Norway's largest collection of cacti
  • Vest-Agder County Museum is an open-air museum with 40 old houses/buildings arranged in "The Setesdal Farmyard", "The Vest-Agder Farmyard" and "The Old Street of Kristiansand". You can take a walk through the beautiful open-air museum as the guides tell you about the history and the traditions

  • The Kristiansand Golf Center has a driving range, a putting green and a golf simulator. The center offers introductions courses for beginners and courses for green card players
  • Iceland-pony center offers camps for riding enthusiasts and riding excursions
  • Troll Mountain has it all. Enjoy rafting, kyaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, Hydrospeeding and paintball.
